9:30      Introductions, Icebreakers & Housekeeping 


9:45      Roundtable & Sharing – We are going to kick it off with while everyone is fresh! Come with your ideas, questions and samples to share.

·        Does anyone have a style guide/brand guide to share?

·        What are others are doing to measure their advertising spending and tying in measurements on views, likes, clicks, etc.

·        What are cooperatives doing to engage with their members – using technology, more community focus, reaching out to younger members, etc.

·        Thinking about statewide communication strategy, should MREA be more proactive in communicating with the media on behalf of its membership regarding policy issues? Do you think strengthening Minnesota co-ops’ digital and social media communication strategies would improve our effectiveness at working on policy issues together?

·        How does your co-op view their community commitment? What ways do they get involved? What do they support? How do you publicize and communicate community efforts and public safety?

·        Do you have a new way of doing a key task that would benefit your peers?

·        Call center trends – (Save the Date: Nov 1 roundtable session for Call Center Supervisors):

o   Instant messaging options for CSRs

o   Texting service during outages – how many co-ops provide this service what are best practices, does it increase satisfaction, cause more questions?

o   Does anyone know of a FREE service that sends daily / weekly tips and tricks on customer service / dealing with customers?

·        Any developments or stories to share on Crisis Communication successes or not so successful?

12:15    Introduction to Advertising Online Effectively Using Google AdWords & Facebook Ads - Ted Kozlowski, DemandQuest Marketing Institute

You don’t have a huge advertising budget to start your own online advertising campaigns. You’ll walk away with a solid fundamental understanding of how Google AdWords and Facebook Ads connects you with customers searching for your product or service. Learn the essential details of running AdWords campaigns including proper set-up, ad creation, keywords, call-to-actions, landing pages, and reporting. We'll also look into setting up and running ads on Facebook. We'll look at Facebook for business, boosting posts vs. creating ad campaigns, targeting, messaging and reporting. We’ll cover the most powerful ways to leverage your social media and search engine presence, create compelling ads & messaging that will convert and increase leads.

8:30      Communicating Beneficial Electrification – Gary Connett, Great River Energy

It is in our co-op DNA to focus on energy efficiency and communicate about the programs which promote this important concept. As we transform powering appliances and machines with electricity, that have traditionally run on fossil fuels, what are the best ways to communicate this concept of beneficial electrification. Electrifying transportation, water heating, and space heating can produce cost savings and air pollution reductions, as electric grids continue to lower their emissions. We will discuss some ways to get these messages out to members.
