Kandiyohi Power Cooperative is seeking an individual for the full-time position of GIS System Administrator.

 

Primary responsibilities to include the application of current GIS technology in the mapping of the Kandiyohi Power Cooperative distribution system and GPS/Field inventory map maintenance daily or as needed. 

 

A two-year technical degree in GIS is required and a minimum of four years mapping experience using ESRI ArcGIS is preferred.  We use the NISC MapWise program for our mapping.  Prior experience with legal descriptions and creating easements also a plus.  Knowledge, skills and abilities would include strong interpersonal skills with a diverse audience, utility construction practices and staking sheets, strong computer skills with a focus on ESRI ArcGIS software and Microsoft office, understanding of the components of an electric distribution system, excellent written and verbal communication skills, etc.

 

Kandiyohi Power Cooperative is a progressive consumer-owned electric utility located in west-central Minnesota, employs twenty-nine employees, and has over $50,000,000 in total utility plant and annual electric revenues of approximately $18,000,000. Kandiyohi Power Cooperative has ownership in several subsidiary companies that provide additional services to its members as well as a division that provides complete propane services.
