The Minnesota Rural Electric Fishing Tourney saw 22 boats, 37 total fish caught, making up 72 pounds of walleye on June 3, 2017. Lake Region Electric teams weighed in 26.25 of the 72 pounds of walleye.

The longest walleye was 25 inches, brought in by Kenny and Mitch Steffens of Lake Region Electric Cooperative.

The event began with a fish fry sponsored by Beltrami Electric Cooperative. The cooperative and vendor sponsors were: Bell Lumber & Pole Co., RESCO, Amaril Uniform Company, Primus Marketing, Beltrami Electric Cooperative, Lake Region Electric Cooperative and Todd- Wadena Electric Cooperative. Bell Lumber and Pole has donated $100 per boat since the early years of this tournament held each year in early June since 2002. The fisherman also enjoyed steaks donated by RESCO! A big thank you goes to Pete Tuomisto. Pete has been very involved with running this tournament and will retire from RESCO at the end of 2017.
