Who Should Attend
Forestry services personnel and co-op employees responsible for vegetation management, including engineering, operations and line superintendents. This class is only open to cooperative employees


This roundtable will allow us to speak candidly about those who have had experience using consultants as part of their vegetation management team. We can also talk as a group about the idea of consultants joining us in future years.  Roundtable topics to include:
- Emerald ash borer/ash tree management
- IVM on tribal owned lands
- Pollinators/monarch butterfly
- Environmental issues
- Developing an effective herbicide program
- Contractor safety from a utility perspective
- Utilizing forestry consultants
- Pros and cons of various contract structures (fixed lump sum, time and equipment, record units, not to exceed)
- Vegetation management software
- Vendor management/contract administration
- Optimizing maintenance cycles
- Crew reporting and productivity tracking
- Storm response and emergency work procedures
- Managing refusals and hostile members
- Utility perspective on contractor safety
