Download Brochure

Virtual sessions will take place via Zoom video conference. This is a web-based platform that does not require you to download any software. In order to fully participate, a computer with a good microphone and a webcam is required.

APPROACH
To practically apply research-based, universal leadership guidelines. The session is based on the 2 foundational concepts:

  1. Three Things Effective Leaders Do
    1. Invest in their own strengths
    2. Surround themselves with the right people and maximize their team
    3. Understand the needs of followers
  2. The Four Basic Needs of Followers
    1. Trust
    2. Compassion
    3. Stability
    4. Hope

OUTCOMES

  • Identify the critical role leaders play in employee engagement and organizational success
  • Outline common “things” effective leaders do
  • Analyze the basic needs of followers and identify leadership behaviors that help meet those needs
  • Assess where you may have strengths and challenges in meeting the needs of followers

PRESENTATION & MATERIALS

Class size is limited to 20 people to provide maximum opportunity for participants to benefit from the instructor-led multimedia activities. Each participant receives an email that includes the Zoom log in details and an attachment with materials needed for class.

For each session the structure would be:

  • 15-20-minute video for participants to watch on their own time in advance of the training
  • Each module has 4 sessions.  There would be one 3-hour virtual training for each session
  • We would have sessions two afternoons in a row and then the second two sessions one week later
  • Participants have homework in between the weeks to ensure the full hour requirements are met for the certificate
  • The instructor will have you use D2L Brightspace, CLC learning management system, to do your homework and get access to the video for pre-work
  • We will provide each participant a binder and will send them the materials electronically that they can print and put into their binder if they wish
