The Board of Directors of St. Croix Electric Cooperative (SCEC) is seeking qualified candidates to succeed the President & CEO who will retire in November 2018.  SCEC has contracted with NRECA’s Executive Search to facilitate the search process.

 

St. Croix Electric Cooperative is headquartered in Hammond, Wisconsin, located 40 miles east of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.  SCEC has been serving member-consumers across St. Croix County and portions of the neighboring western Wisconsin counties of Polk, Pierce and Dunn for 81 years.  Today, SCEC serves 11,000 accounts via 1,760 miles of distribution lines.  SCEC has a staff 25 employees and annual revenue exceeding $23 M.  The cooperative’s largest revenue source is residential, and it has a strong and diverse commercial base, including agriculture.  SCEC receives its wholesale power from Dairyland Power Cooperative and is a member of the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association.  The Cooperative has an excellent reputation with its members and the communities throughout its service area and a history of offering needed programs and services.

 

CEO candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of electric utility knowledge, and at least five (5) years of senior management experience.  Rural electric experience is preferred.  A bachelor’s degree in business administration, electrical engineering, finance, accounting, or a directly related business degree is required.  Candidates must have broad electric utility management experience that includes the areas of finance, operations and safety, member communication, human resources, and project management.  The successful candidate will be a person of high integrity and have excellent people and communication skills, proven leadership ability, and a strong commitment to the “Cooperative Principles.”

 

Hammond, Wisconsin, is located in the center of St. Croix County (SCC), one of the state’s most desirable and fastest growing counties with a population of 90,000.  SCC has a vibrant economy fueled by the proximity of Interstate 94 and the area’s educational, medical, manufacturing industries, and service providers.  The number of communities in SCC with full amenities and services, combined with the proximity to the metro area of Minneapolis/St. Paul and the broad range of outdoor and recreational activities, makes western Wisconsin a great place to live and work.
