The work below is representative of the scope of work performed within this job classification. Individual job duties will vary based on work assignment.

*Test, calibrate, program, retrofit, repair, install, replace and maintain the more complex water and poly phase electric revenue meters and related service equipment.
*Perform electric service disconnects and reconnects.
*Ensure that all water and electric meter installations comply with the RPU Service Rules and Regulations.
*Read meter routes and interpret metering data; maintain and update metering records, including computerized files, as necessary.
*Determine type and size of meters and associated equipment for electric service installations.
*Perform electric metering and service functions such as calculating electric loads, measure secondary current and voltage, and transformer and service load checks.
Provide assistance to other sections.

Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

General Duties:
This is a technical position responsible for troubleshooting, testing, installing, and maintaining water and electric revenue meters and related service equipment to ensure that they are operating accurately as well as reading and interpreting metering system data and equipment to ensure meter accuracy. Primary assignments in this position include water metering and single/poly phase electric metering as well as troubleshooting load management equipment and power quality investigations.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent GED AND completion of an approved Electric Metering apprenticeship program

Licenses and Certifications
Valid Minnesota driver's license
